BMW of North America, LLC has issued a recall for certain 2023-2024 models due to a malfunction of the integrated brake system that can result in a loss of power brake assist. This malfunction could also cause issues with the Antilock Brake System (ABS) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC), increasing the risk of accidents. 11,579 units are potentially affected by this recall.

BMW has initiated a recall of various 2023-2024 models, including SUVs like the X1, X5, X6, X7, and XM, as well as sedans like the 530i, i5, 740i, 760i, i7, and 750e. The integrated brake system malfunction could lead to the loss of power brake assist, thereby extending the distance required for stopping. Additionally, issues with the ABS and DSC systems can impact vehicle control, increasing the risk of crashes.
Owners will be notified in phases, starting with interim letters expected on November 22, 2024. Once parts are available, second notification letters will be sent. The remedy involves replacing the integrated brake module, free of charge. Vehicles included in a previous recall (24V-104) will need to undergo the new remedy as well.
