FORT VALLEY, Ga. – Blue Bird Body Company is recalling certain 2022 school buses to repair a potential brake-line issue which might result in a degradation of braking.

The recall covers 135 2022 Blue Bird Vision school buses with the Ford 7.3-liter engine which might have been assembled without the retaining clamp used to secure the hydraulic brake lines near the engine.

According to federal National Highway Safety Administration Part 573 Safety Recall Report 21V-778: “If this clamp is not installed, the brake line can rub on the exhaust pipe causing a leak or failure of the line. Failure of the brake line would lead to:

1) Low brake pressure warning in vehicle cluster;
2) Eventual loss or degradation of front service brakes;
3) Eventual loss or degradation of rear service brakes.

There are no known accidents related to the recall issue.
