Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (PCNA) marks the 25th anniversary of its Porsche Technology Apprenticeship Program (PTAP), celebrating a legacy of excellence in automotive technical training. Since 1999, PTAP has equipped aspiring Porsche technicians with top-tier education and hands-on experience.

“Our technicians are the backbone of Porsche’s legacy of innovation and precision,” said Timo Resch, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America. “We are incredibly proud to be celebrating 25 years of this unique and impactful apprentice program.”

  • Comprehensive Training: The 23-week course covers essential maintenance and advanced diagnostics, combining classroom learning with hands-on workshop experience.
  • Expansion: Initially based in Atlanta, PTAP now operates in Easton, Pennsylvania, and Eastvale, California.
  • Graduation Success: By the end of 2024, over 1,000 students will have completed the program.
  • Career Opportunities: PTAP graduates secure full-time positions at over 200 Porsche Centers across the U.S., often landing well-paying, stable jobs in a high-demand industry.

Program Details:

PTAP offers a comprehensive 23-week course designed to train technicians in essential maintenance and advanced diagnostics for the entire Porsche model line. The program provides a blend of classroom education and hands-on experience in workshops, ensuring that graduates are thoroughly prepared to meet Porsche’s high standards.

Career Support:

After completing the program, graduates receive assistance in finding full-time employment at one of the 200+ Porsche Centers in the United States. This support has led to a high employment rate among graduates, who often secure well-paying and stable positions in an industry that continues to experience high demand for skilled technicians.

Established in 1984 and headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia since 1998, PCNA is the exclusive U.S. importer of several Porsche models, including the 911, 718 Boxster, 718 Cayman, Macan, Cayenne, Panamera, and Taycan. PCNA operates two Porsche Experience Centers in North America, one in Atlanta and another near Los Angeles, each featuring extensive driver development tracks and business centers. These centers also house the U.S. headquarters of Porsche Classic and Porsche Motorsport North America, respectively.

PCNA supports 201 independently owned and operated Porsche dealerships, three Porsche studios, and five satellite stores across the U.S., providing parts, service, marketing, and training to ensure a best-in-class customer experience.
