Nitrex/UPC-Marathon has announced the promotions of Kurt Willms to Sales Director for the Americas and Asia, and Marcin Stoklosa to Sales Director for Europe and the Middle East. These strategic moves highlight the company’s dedication to enhancing in-person customer engagement and delivering robust technical support, drawing on the extensive industry experience of its leadership team.

Key Highlights:

  • Kurt Willms promoted to Sales Director, Americas and Asia
  • Marcin Stoklosa promoted to Sales Director, Europe–Middle East
  • Focus on in-person customer engagement and technical support
  • Leadership team offers over 300 years of combined industry experience
  • Prioritizes field presence over virtual sales models

Unlike many firms shifting to virtual sales, Nitrex/UPC-Marathon is reinforcing its commitment to direct, face-to-face interactions. The realigned sales structure emphasizes local presence and hands-on expertise, aiming to address customer needs more effectively. “These promotions are part of a larger effort to bring our most experienced people closer to the customer,” said Mark Hemsath, President of Nitrex/UPC-Marathon. “Our sales team collectively holds over 300 years of industry experience—Kurt and I each contribute over 35 years, and Marcin brings more than 20. That expertise belongs in the field, not behind a screen.”

Kurt Willms underscored the team’s technical strengths: “We’ve assembled a group that excels at solving real-world heat-treating challenges, from modernizing legacy systems to specifying new vacuum furnaces. We’re prepared to work alongside customers to deliver solutions.” Meanwhile, Marcin Stoklosa emphasized the value of on-site engagement: “Serving diverse markets across Europe, the UK, and the Middle East—spanning over 30 countries—requires more than remote support. Being present in the plant is how we ensure the best outcomes.”

Founded in 1984 in Montreal, Canada, Nitrex is a global leader in surface treatment solutions, operating in over 60 countries. By elevating seasoned leaders and prioritizing field presence, the company seeks to boost response times, offer smarter recommendations, and build stronger customer ties worldwide.
