MUNICH – For the seventh year in succession, Knorr-Bremse, the global market leader for braking systems and other subsystems for rail and commercial vehicles, has been named “Top Employer for Engineers in Germany.”

“As technology leader, Knorr-Bremse offers its employees a modern infrastructure and an attractive work environment,” explained Klaus Remmler, Head of Corporate HR at Knorr-Bremse. “That includes working on exciting tasks within international teams, a future-proof workplace, and a very high level of personal responsibility. We are delighted that the working conditions we offer our engineers have again been commended and see this as an incentive to keep on improving.”

Liv Petersen, Project Manager for Bogie Equipment at Knorr-Bremse Rail Vehicle Systems said: “I particularly appreciate the internationality of the Knorr-Bremse Group and the wide range of development opportunities open to me here. My varied and crossfunctional activities provide me with numerous insights outside my own area of responsibility. Along with the exciting content of the work itself, the team spirit here adds significant value for me.”

Together with colleagues from across the Knorr-Bremse Group, Petersen stepped up to receive the award at a ceremony in early February.

This commendation goes to employers who are committed to putting their employees at the heart of their business activities and offering them an outstanding work environment.

A total of 10 overarching categories are examined, including Talent Strategy, Workforce Planning, Training & Development, Leadership Development, Compensation & Benefits, and Culture. Inspection takes the form of a multi-stage research and audit process and only companies that comply with the rigorous quality criteria are awarded this seal of quality.

The Top Employers Institute is the world’s leading provider of certification for outstanding conditions of employment. This year, the Institute identified and recognized more than 1,600 Top Employers in 119 countries and regions on five continents.

In what is a globally harmonized certification process, these companies must meet demanding requirements and high standards.

As David Plink, CEO of the Top Employers Institute, explained: “To be recognized as a Top Employer, a company needs to prove that the implementation of its people strategies delivers a better world of work for its employees. The certified companies provide an outstanding example of dedicated people management, and continuous improvement, and live up to the promise: ‘for a better world of work.’ Congratulations!”
