Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing has issued a recall for 106,061 units of the 2024-2025 Toyota Tacoma due to a potential brake fluid leak in 4-wheel drive models equipped with 16-inch brakes and 17-inch Toyota wheels. The issue arises from mud and dirt accumulation, which may cause wear on the rear brake hoses, increasing the risk of a brake fluid leak and potential brake failure.

- Remedy: Toyota dealers will replace both rear brake hoses free of charge.

Toyota continues to investigate whether 2-wheel drive Tacoma models with the same wheel and brake configuration, as well as 4WD models with 18-inch wheels, may also be affected.
Owners will receive a notification by mail and can schedule a free repair at an authorized Toyota dealership. Those who have already paid for repairs may be eligible for reimbursement through Toyota’s General Reimbursement Plan.
