More than 1,950 of the recalled vehicles are in the U.S. and more than 750 are recalled in Canada.

Mercedes says the software errors will prevent the brakes from automatically activating as the systems are supposed to do.

The Mercedes-Benz recall is expected to begin September 17, 2019, when dealers will update the radar sensor control unit software.
