LAS VEGAS – FRENBU, the brake brand of Turkey’s Akisoglu Casting Industry and Trade Co. Ltd., brought its heavy-duty commercial-vehicle (CV) brake products to the 2022 Automotive Aftermarket Product Expo (AAPEX) in Las Vegas. Its appearance at the major trade show also marked the company’s second year of exporting to the United States market.

“We’ve been in the U.S. for two years,” said Abdullah Calisir, FRENBU regional manager-foreign trade, during a discussion yesterday with The BRAKE Report at the show. “We export to more than 50 countries.”

Calisir described FRENBU as a major Turkish manufacturer with more than 1,000 employees, four factories and two foundries, including one in Stuttgart, Germany which it purchased from Mercedes-Benz.

Akisoglu Casting Industry and Trade Co. Ltd. started its production life as a small foundry in Konya in 1978 and today has four factories. It is one of the leading companies in its sectors, manufacturing elevator engines, heavy commercial vehicle brake components, elevator cable production and casting products for different sectors.

The company in 2014 began producing heavy-vehicle brake drum, discs and wheel hubs under the FRENBU brand. It manufactures brake components for both the original-equipment and aftermarket.

It has produced more than 1,000,000 component pieces.
