Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) has issued a recall for several brake components and vehicles due to a potential brake pedal detachment issue. The defect, caused by improper assembly during manufacturing, poses a significant safety risk as it may lead to a loss of braking function and increase the risk of a crash.

- Recall 1: Mopar anti-lock brake control units with specific part numbers may have improperly assembled fasteners connecting the brake pedal and brake booster.

- Remedy: Inspection, repair, or replacement of the brake booster; uninstalled units will be repurchased.
- Recall 2: 2019-2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio vehicles with improperly assembled brake pedal and booster connections.

- Remedy: Inspection and repair or replacement of the brake booster.
Both recalls will involve free repairs for affected components. Owner notification letters are scheduled to be mailed on February 7, 2025.
Details of the First Recall:
Chrysler is recalling Mopar anti-lock brake control units with part numbers 68473794AA, 68473795AA, 68505330AA, and 68472901AA. The defect stems from a fastener that may not have been properly assembled during manufacturing, leading to potential brake pedal detachment.
Owners of these components or vehicles are advised to contact FCA customer service at 1-800-853-1403 or visit nhtsa.gov for further information. The FCA internal reference for this recall is E1B.
Details of the Second Recall:
Chrysler is also recalling 2019-2020 Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio vehicles for the same brake pedal detachment issue. Owners should contact FCA customer service for assistance under recall reference E0B.
