Brembo SGL Carbon Ceramic Brakes (BSCCB) has successfully expanded its production capacity by approximately 50% at facilities in Stezzano, Italy, and Meitingen, Germany, to address increasing demand for carbon-ceramic brake discs in premium passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
Key Highlights
- BSCCB completed the expansion at both sites, adding 8,500 m² of new production halls in Meitingen and 4,000 m² in Stezzano.
- State-of-the-art facilities were installed, enhancing the entire process chain from forming and machining to assembly.
- Investments improve process efficiency, quality, and automation while maintaining flexibility in manufacturing.
- The expansion supports growing needs in the premium and luxury automotive segments, where high brake performance is essential.
- Carbon-ceramic brake discs offer lightweight construction, superior heat resistance, and long lifespan.
The project involved constructing two new production halls in Meitingen within just 14 months, incorporating modern systems for efficient, high-performance production. In Stezzano, existing buildings were expanded to accommodate the increased capacity.
These enhancements enable BSCCB to reliably meet customer demands and strengthen its market position. As explained by managing directors Florian Hofner and Nicola Frambrosi, the combination of proven technology and targeted innovations ensures future-proof production.
Over the years, BSCCB has increased its supply of carbon-ceramic brake discs, becoming a key partner for premium and luxury automotive manufacturers. The technology is a hallmark of high-performance vehicles, providing exceptional braking and exclusive design.
BSCCB, a 50:50 joint venture between Brembo N.V. and SGL Carbon SE, focuses on designing, developing, and manufacturing braking systems with carbon-ceramic discs for high-performance cars and commercial vehicles. It operates two plants: one in Stezzano, Italy, and one in Meitingen, Germany.
