Brembo Brakes Featured on Chevrolet Silverado High Country, LTZ and RST Street Concepts at SEMA

Brembo color, design and performance highlight SEMA Silverado concepts

LAS VEGAS, (October 30, 2018) – Brembo brakes will be featured as part of the Chevrolet exhibit at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, October 30 – November 2, on the Chevrolet Silverado High Country, Chevrolet LTZ and RST Street Concepts.

The High Country, LTZ and RST Street Concepts are designed to showcase how truck customers can accessorize the new Silverado to suit their personalities and performance needs. Brembo worked closely with GM engineers to tailor a brand new six-piston, two-piece caliper specifically for the all-new 2019 Silverado and next generation 2019 Sierra. The front braking package provides stable stopping power when commuting, hauling or towing.

The iconic Brembo red calipers and pads grab onto a larger-than-stock, 410 x 32mm (16.1-inch x 1.3-inch) Duralife™ vented rotor. The rotors feature a hardened surface to reduce corrosion and provide quieter braking with less vibration. This package offers an 89 percent increase in brake pad area to increase system thermal capacity which provides added braking control in addition to a 22 percent increase in rotor area over the standard rotor.

The system emphasizes both function and style. Brembo has taken full advantage of the Silverado’s large 20 and 22-inch wheels in order to increase stopping power and pedal feel. The upgrade choice also will be visually evident as Brembo’s red calipers serve as a stylized back drop for the customer’s wheel choice.

“This all-aluminum, red, two-piece Brembo caliper features specific Chevrolet Performance or GMC branding”, Dan Sandberg, Brembo North America president and CEO said “These iconic calipers wrap around large, vented rotors that not only looks great and fill the wheel opening, but they also contribute to stable braking and control when hauling loads or pulling a trailer. Together with GM, this package has been validated for safety, quality and performance and is available to order through your GMC or Chevrolet dealer on your new truck.”

The new part numbers are:

  • Chevrolet Performance PN 23505023
  • GMC PN 23505024

Brembo translates over 41 years of motorsport technology into every braking component. The racing environment is the perfect testing ground to prove longevity and pedal feel for road going vehicles. At the 2018 Lucerna Tijuana SCORE Desert Challenge in September Cameron Steele drove his No. 16 Monster Energy Desert Assassins Chevrolet Silverado to the win on Brembo racing brakes.
