Bendix Sponsors 2024 National Truck Driving Championship

Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC will sponsor the prestigious National Truck Driving Championships (NTDC) Grand Champion Award for the 13th consecutive year. The 87th NTDC, organized by the American Trucking Associations (ATA), will take place from August 21-24, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana. The event celebrates the professionalism, skill, and commitment to safety of the nation’s top truck drivers.

Key Highlights:

  • Bendix continues its tradition of sponsoring the National Truck Driving Championships Grand Champion Award for the 13th year.
  • The NTDC is a four-day competition held in Indianapolis, featuring top drivers from across the country.
  • Drivers compete in various categories, including safety knowledge, vehicle condition, and driving skills.
  • Bendix’s sponsorship underscores its commitment to highway safety and honors the professionalism of truck drivers.
  • 2023’s Bendix Grand Champion Award winner was James “Gragg” Wilson, a professional driver for United Parcel Service from Nevada.

The NTDC, first held in 1937 as the National Truck Rodeo, is the culmination of local, state, and regional championships. Competing drivers must have driven accident-free for at least one year, with many having logged millions of accident-free miles. The competition includes a written exam, a pre-trip inspection test, and a skills-based driving course at the Indiana Convention Center. Drivers must demonstrate expertise in safety, equipment handling, and precision driving.

“Bendix is grateful for the opportunity to support the NTDC, the premier showcase for honoring America’s safe commercial vehicle drivers,” said Nicole Oreskovic, vice president for sales and marketing at Bendix.

Bendix, a subsidiary of Knorr-Bremse, develops and supplies advanced safety technologies and air brake systems for commercial vehicles. The company’s ongoing sponsorship of the NTDC Grand Champion Award reinforces its dedication to promoting safer roads and recognizing the critical role of professional drivers in the trucking industry.
