SAF-HOLLAND Acquires Full Ownership of Haldex India

SAF-HOLLAND, a leading global supplier of trailer and truck components, has acquired the remaining 40% stake in Haldex ANAND India Private Limited from its joint venture partner, ANAND Group. This move, effective April 11, 2025, marks a significant step in SAF-HOLLAND’s strategy to expand its presence in the Indian commercial vehicle market.

Key Highlights:

  • SAF-HOLLAND acquires remaining 40% stake in Haldex India
  • Acquisition part of drive2030 strategy to strengthen market position in India
  • Aims to enhance cooperation with York, another SAF-HOLLAND subsidiary in India
  • Indian commercial vehicle market seen as a strategic growth area
  • Purchase price in the lower double-digit million-euro range

The acquisition of the outstanding shares in Haldex India aligns with SAF-HOLLAND’s drive2030 strategy, which focuses on strengthening its market position in key regions, including India. The Indian commercial vehicle market is experiencing significant growth due to major infrastructure investments, overall economic expansion, and continued urbanization. These factors are driving long-term demand for heavy trucks, construction equipment, and trailers.

By fully owning Haldex India, SAF-HOLLAND can better integrate its operations with York, a leading supplier of axle and suspension systems for trailers in India and part of the SAF-HOLLAND Group since 2018. This integration is expected to enhance the company’s sales and distribution network, allowing it to serve customers more effectively in both the original equipment and aftermarket segments. Additionally, the complete takeover simplifies the localization of the entire Haldex product portfolio in India, which is crucial for meeting the specific needs of the Indian market and complying with local regulations.

SAF-HOLLAND is a leading international manufacturer of chassis-related assemblies and components for trailers, trucks, and buses. With approximately 5,700 employees worldwide, the company generated sales of EUR 1,877 million in 2024. Its product range includes axle and suspension systems, fifth wheels, coupling systems, and brake and EBS systems. The company operates under several brands, including SAF, Holland, Haldex, and York, and holds strong market positions globally.

This acquisition is a key component of SAF-HOLLAND’s drive2030 strategy, positioning the company to capitalize on growth opportunities in the Indian commercial vehicle market and achieve its ambitious targets for 2030.
