Phillip Joseph Takes the Wheel as New General Manager of Disc Brakes Australia Amid Record Growth

SYDNEY—Disc Brakes Australia (DBA), the country’s leading manufacturer of aftermarket and OE-replacement brake components, announced today the appointment of Phillip Joseph as its new General Manager, effective September 1, 2023. Joseph will be succeeding Executive General Manager Gideon Segal, who is shifting his focus to lead GUD’s Undercar Group, which includes DBA and Australian Clutch Services (ACS).

Joseph, whose tenure at DBA spans over six years, is well-versed in every aspect of the company. He initially joined DBA when it was a family-owned business, working across various departments including manufacturing, warehousing, and sales. After a period of specializing in finance with industry leaders in Financial Advisory, Mergers & Acquisitions, and Private Equity, Joseph returned to DBA in 2017. Since then, he has played a pivotal role in the acquisition of DBA by ASX-listed GUD Holdings Limited (ASX:GUD) and has spent the last five years as General Manager – Operations.

Under Joseph’s operational leadership, DBA has experienced record growth both in Australia and globally. “Our focus is now on servicing the market even better through closer relationships with our direct customers, workshops, and end users. We are committed to ongoing re-investment in the business and maintaining our innovation and technical leadership,” Joseph stated about his new role.

Segal commended Joseph on his new position, saying, “He brings passion and energy for the continued development of DBA. Together with the team, he will drive the growth aspired for the business.” The company extended its heartfelt thanks to Segal for his years of dedication and leadership.

Disc Brakes Australia boasts a product line that covers over 97% of the Australian car parc, offering brake rotors, pads, and other components for a variety of applications—street vehicles, performance upgrades, towing, and more.
