Galfer Brakes Gear Up for Dakar 2024 with New Disc Wave® FLSX

Spanish braking specialist Galfer is bringing the heat (and stopping power) to the 2024 Dakar Rally with its brand-new Disc Wave® FLSX brakes. These 300mm floating front discs, designed specifically for rally raid motorcycles like KTM, Husqvarna, GasGas, Sherco, and Yamaha, promise to be the ultimate weapon for taming the unforgiving Saudi Arabian terrain.

Built to conquer the toughest terrain:

  • Enhanced stopping power: The FLSX discs boast an oversized design and optimized wave profile for maximum heat dissipation and consistent braking performance, even in the most demanding conditions.
  • Lightweight construction: Despite their size, the FLSX discs are surprisingly lightweight, thanks to their floating design and clever material choices. This means less rotational mass for quicker acceleration and sharper handling.
  • Adaptable to any condition: Galfer offers two sintered metal pad compounds for the FLSX discs – G1396 (Sinter Standard) for everyday riding and G1396R (Sinter Racing) for the ultimate in race-ready bite.
  • Teamwork makes the Dakar dream work: Galfer has partnered with the Sherco TVS Racing Factory team, whose riders have already put the FLSX discs through their paces in grueling races like the Morocco Desert Challenge and the Rally du Maroc. In 2024, Lorenzo Santolino and Rui Gonçalves will rely on the FLSX to tackle the Dakar’s punishing dunes and treacherous wadis.

Dakar 2024: A test of endurance and innovation

The 46th edition of the Dakar Rally is no walk in the park. Riders will face a grueling 7,891 km journey across Saudi Arabia, with over 4,727 km of timed special stages testing their mettle and their machines. Galfer’s FLSX discs are designed to be the difference between making it to the finish line and getting left in the dust.

With its cutting-edge technology and focus on performance, Galfer’s Disc Wave® FLSX is poised to be a game-changer in the world of rally raid racing. The 2024 Dakar Rally will be the ultimate proving ground, and we can’t wait to see how these brakes help riders conquer the toughest race on earth.
