FMSI Adds Two New Members

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – FMSI begins 2023 with the addition of two new members, Brakes India and Motor Car Parts America.

“Despite global consolidation in the brake industry our membership continues to grow,” said President Frank Oliveto, organization president.

Three additional membership approvals are pending final documentation noted Oliveto.

“Our staff has identified and is in discussion with multiple companies about the value of FMSI membership,” he said. “We top graded our staff and technology, now on our 2nd generation of 3D scanning, 360 spins, recently adding Spanish, Chinese and French translation to the FMSI e-catalog.” 

The organization’s number system is the intellectual property of the Friction Materials Standards Institute and for the use of its members according to the organization’s terms and conditions.

Founded in 1948 as a trade organization, FMSI and FMS are registered trademarks of Friction Materials Standards Institute.

The organization created the standard part numbering system for brake and clutch facings.
