DETROIT – Reporting by GM Authority has revealed a change to the brake offerings for the 2021 Cadillac CT5 Sport model.

In 2020, the Sport version of the sedan came with standard Brembo brakes including “Cadillac” on the black calipers. The more performance-oriented CT5-V had the V-Series logo on its Brembo calipers. Optional, with the V-Series logo, were blue or red front calipers on both Sport and V models.

According to a Cadillac spokesperson, for 2021 Brembo brakes will no longer be fitted as standard but offered as an option for the Sport version. The optional system will come with either blue or red calipers; black will no longer be offered.

Black Brembo calipers will still be the standard configuration for the V-Series CT5 for 2021, with red or blue ones optional.

“Long story short, all 2021 Cadillac CT5 Brembo brake calipers will have the V-Series logo, instead of the Cadillac script. The aesthetic change removes any confusion buyers might have had with the branding on the Cadillac CT5 brake calipers. It also aligns with the introduction of the optional V Performance package for the 2021 Cadillac CT5, which adds a performance-tuned suspension with Magnetic Ride Control 4.0, an electronic limited-slip differential, and the aforementioned high-performance Brembo brakes to the CT5 Sport,” reported GM Authority.

“It’s also worth noting that the new CT5 Diamond Sky Special Edition Package will feature blue-painted Brembo calipers, making the model the only way to get the high-performance Brembo brakes plus painted calipers on the Premium Luxury model.”
