ZF Aftermarket recently unveiled advanced solutions designed to boost the efficiency and sustainability of vehicle operations. By focusing on electric powertrains, ADAS technology, and digitalization, ZF is enhancing the mobility landscape for today and the future. These innovations promise greater uptime and environmental responsibility for passenger cars and commercial vehicles.
Key Highlights:
- Introduction of ADAS technology for independent workshops with comprehensive camera calibration equipment.
- Lifecycle solutions for electric powertrains, focusing on maintenance, repair, and replacement strategies.
- Expansion of product portfolio for electric and combustion vehicles, covering braking, steering, and suspension systems.
- Digitalization as a core strategy to make vehicles safer and more efficient.
ADAS Solutions and Calibration Equipment for Passenger Cars
As a global leader in ADAS technology, ZF produces over 10 million cameras annually. The ZF Aftermarket division extends its ADAS OE technology to independent automotive markets (IAM), ensuring workshops are equipped with the right tools and expertise. Beginning in 2025, ZF will launch its Smart Camera, designed for popular vehicle models such as the Nissan Leaf and Peugeot 3008. This camera enables advanced functions like Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and Lane Keep Assist (LKA).
Additionally, ZF introduces its [pro]Diagnostics ADAS calibration equipment, designed for multi-brand vehicles. This technology allows precise sensor calibration without changing physical calibration targets. New training courses are also available to prepare workshops for the growing demand in ADAS services.
Electric Powertrain Lifecycle Approach: Maintain – Repair – Replace
ZF’s approach to electric powertrains focuses on the full lifecycle of these systems, offering comprehensive solutions for maintenance, repair, and replacement. With products like ZF Lifeguard eFluid, ZF has doubled its range for EVs and HEVs. The company’s repair kits simplify the replacement of vital components, ensuring longer vehicle lifespans. The upcoming addition of more kits, including for the Lotus Eletre, reinforces ZF’s commitment to expanding its electric powertrain solutions.
Expanding Portfolio for Electric and Combustion Vehicles
ZF has expanded its e-mobility product range, including new innovations like the TRW NOxidation brake assembly paste, designed to address issues such as brake rust and disc corrosion. ZF’s brake pad coverage now includes 90% of the Top 10 Electric Vehicles in Europe, and its steering and suspension portfolio reaches over 86% coverage for these vehicles.
Further, TRW semi-compound brake discs will soon be available for Mercedes and Land Rover, adding to ZF’s extensive range of OE-equivalent replacement parts.
Commercial Vehicle Solutions and Future Digitalization
ZF’s commercial vehicle solutions continue to expand, with new ADAS systems and electric drive repair kits designed for optimal fleet management. The introduction of smart tachographs and ZF Bus Connect showcases ZF’s commitment to digitalization as a means of improving vehicle safety, operational transparency, and regulatory compliance.
Through these innovative solutions, ZF Aftermarket is driving the future of mobility, ensuring greater uptime, improved sustainability, and enhanced safety for vehicles worldwide.
