Fras-le Launches Pads for EVs, Hybrids at Automec

CAXIAS DO SUL, Brazil – Fras-le, world leader in the manufacture of friction materials, operating in the national and international markets with a presence in over 120 countries, will launch several new brake components at AUTOMEC 2023 – the 15th International Auto Parts, Equipment and Services Fair, the largest automotive aftermarket event, which takes place from April 25th to 29th, at São Paulo Expo, in São Paulo/SP.

The Brazilian manufacturer will present the Fras-le EHnergy brake-pad line intended for electric and hybrid vehicles for the global aftermarket.

“A traditional brand in the market, Fras-le has always focused on the constant evolution of its portfolio, accelerating launches to meet the current fleet of vehicles, ensuring safety when braking. Now, with the advance of the fleet of electrified vehicles, it could not be different. The new Fras-le EHnergy line is yet another innovation aimed at new mobility models,” said Guilherme Adami, Fras-le Business Director.

Fras-le EHnergy brake pads have the exclusive Electric+ technology, a formulation developed to meet the stability and braking power requirements characteristic of electric and hybrid vehicles. Metal platelets receive nanopainting paint, whose composition with nanoparticles of niobium oxide, enhances corrosion resistance and preserves the integrity of the inserts.

The line also features a multilayer anti-noise plate that ensures acoustic comfort during braking.

Fras-le EHnergy has a sufficient portfolio to serve 90 percent of the existing models of vehicles in the category in the Brazilian fleet, such as the Volvo XC40 Recharge and BMW I3.

The manufacturer of friction materials was the first in Brazil to receive certification under the ISO 9001 standard, in addition to also having the international certificates of ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO/IEC17025 and IATF 16949.

It has an advanced Research and Development Center that brings together chemical, physical and pilot laboratories, responsible for seeking new brake solutions for Brazil and the world. It also has several options of test tracks at CTR Randon, where products are evaluated and approved before going to the streets.

Actions at AUTOMEC – The brand will also present other examples of its product line in friction materials at the fair, such as the expansion of coverage of the line of Ceramaxx and Advanced inserts.

Among the attractions of the stand, located on Avenida Principal – E-201, there will be interaction with visitors who will be able to participate in a parts hunting game that has gamification and augmented reality feature, as well as the launch of the first course for mechanics in Brazil in the metaverse, called “MetaMecânicoVerso,” developed in partnership with Escola do Mecânico (Mechanic School).
