Zimmermann Intros Cross-Drilled Rotor Upgrades

SINSHEIM-DÜHREN, Germany — Otto Zimmermann GmbH, a renowned brake manufacturer, introduced a cross-drilled brake disc upgrade, aimed at providing both improved performance and a stylish appearance, for more than 300 vehicle applications.  Zimmermann stands as the sole manufacturer in the independent spare parts market to provide this cross-drilled upgrade.

In response to a growing trend among luxury vehicle manufacturers and customers favoring open rims with larger diameters, Zimmermann recognizes the evolving role of brake discs. No longer solely functional components, brake discs have become prominent design elements that accentuate the sporty and secure characteristics of vehicles.

For more than a decade, Zimmermann has been synonymous with high-end compound brake discs through its Formula:Z brand.

The latest cross-drilled update, along with the smooth version, have received ECE approval for models from Audi and VW. As a result, these brake disc variations do not necessitate additional registration, enabling seamless brake tuning without the need for conversion work.

Furthermore, both versions offer exceptional braking comfort due to their significantly reduced weight and lower unsprung mass. Equipped with high-strength and lightweight aluminum brake hubs and floating friction rings, these brake discs expand radially under heavy strain, preventing warping.

The Zimmermann cross-drilled disc upgrade not only enhances the aesthetic appeal but also delivers quicker cooling and shorter braking distances, particularly on wet surfaces. The presence of drilled holes allows water and brake dust to be continuously expelled, maintaining optimal braking performance.

To ensure a long-lasting and visually pleasing look, Formula:Z brake discs are equipped with the Coat Z Anti-Corrosion coating. This protective layer safeguards the discs against rust without compromising their braking capabilities.

While the coating wears off the friction surface during initial use, it remains intact on the outer diameter, ventilation channel, and brake disc hub. Consequently, the brake discs maintain a well-maintained appearance, even after extended periods of use.

Zimmermann remains committed to expanding the range of Formula:Z upgrades, with preparations underway for additional references. Car enthusiasts and professionals can rely on Zimmermann to deliver cutting-edge brake solutions that combine performance, safety, and aesthetic appeal.
