Peugeot has recalled the 4008 SUV over two separate issues with the parking brake, following in the footsteps of the related Citroen C4 Aircross.
As with the Citroen, one of the recall campaigns relates to corrosion in the parking brake lever and actuating spindle on the rear brake calipers. If the issue occurs, there’s a risk the parking brake won’t operate effectively, putting the owner and other road users at risk of an accident.
The second campaign also involves the parking brake. Peugeot says one of the parts in the internal play compensator mechanism in the rear brake caliper mightn’t work in the long term, meaning the brake could (once again) not work correctly.
