The Passive Safety Manager will be required to act as a technical lead and manage the existing Passive Safety team. The position will be expected to manage business opportunities from preliminary technical discussions, throughout the whole negotiation, and until the project final award. Will be required to lead the execution of the project until its completion, with a strong focus on reaching the highest quality standards and exceeding the client’s expectations.
Location: Los Angeles, CA area
Responsibilities:
- Devise product strategy and local development plans
- Manage resources, ensuring the efficient use of our personnel to fit customers’ demand
- Determine the required use of resources and maximize its efficiency to the most productive uses
- Manage, support, and provide technical leadership to team members
- Implement training and development plans for all team members
- Initiate investment and manpower requests
- Drive teams to achieve the highest quality standards and outstanding customers’ level of satisfaction
- Supervision and validation of project deliverables
- Manage all communications with customers
- Support business development actions, leading most relevant accounts
- Devise pricing strategy. Preparation of budget proposals and quotations
- Ensure on-time delivery of technical/financial proposals to the customers
- Lead negotiations with customers
- Propose innovation projects to address future market demands
Qualifications:
- B. Sc. / M.Sc. in Engineering
- A minimum of 5 years experience in Passive Safety testing and engineering projects at OEM or automotive supplier
- Experience with test supervision, analysis of results, Safety development, Restraint System Integration , Definition of countermeasures towards product development
- Project Management, Target setting and Design Validation Plans, Feasibility studies and troubleshooting
- Proficient understanding of world-wide safety legal standards (FMVSS, EEC, UN ECE, Chinese GB, TRIAS) and consumer test programs (e.g. NCAP, C-NCAP, Euro NCAP, J-NCAP)
- Good communication skills and ability manage clients and sales process
- Team leader
- Available to travel globally
