Fritz Winter Eisengießerei has initiated its largest investment program ever, securing a consortium loan of approximately €300 million. This financial maneuver is designed to propel the company into the future with a strong emphasis on eco-friendly solutions in the iron foundry sector.

“Financing with this volume is a confirmation of our work in the current environment of the automotive industry and shows the confidence of the lenders in Fritz Winter,” CFO Jörg Müller stated, highlighting the significance of this financial milestone. The investment will focus on accelerating innovation, driving decarbonization efforts, and aiming for CO2 neutrality by 2045, thereby ensuring the long-term viability of its operations.

Central to Fritz Winter’s strategy are innovative eco solutions that have been pioneering in setting environmental sustainability standards in the foundry industry. The initiatives include ecoCasting, ecoMelting, and ecoCoating, each contributing uniquely towards minimizing environmental impact. ecoCasting, renowned for being the most sustainable iron casting process globally, eliminates the use of green sand and significantly conserves water and energy. Meanwhile, ecoCoating offers environmentally friendly surface treatments to reduce wear and fine dust emissions from brake discs by up to 90%. Lastly, ecoMelting is focused on developing a CO2-neutral foundry process that eschews fossil fuels.
