BRISTOL, U.K. – Anthony Roberts has been confirmed as the new General Manager at EBC Brakes’ Bristol-based specialist friction material manufacturing plant – European Friction Industries Ltd [EFI].

A newcomer to the EBC Brakes group, Roberts brings more than 24 years experience in manufacturing and engineering management from his previous role at Sanoh UK Manufacturing – also based in Bristol.

“I’m very much looking forward to becoming part of the EFI family and learning as much about the business as possible,” Roberts commented. “In the short space of time I’ve been here, I’ve been made to feel very welcome. I hope to bring the knowledge I’ve learned over the last 24 years from Sanoh UK Manufacturing to help improve EFI’s manufacturing processes and to get the management and production teams to pull in the right direction.”

James Hallett, CEO of EBC Brakes, was equally-as-optimistic about the news.

“The whole group of EBC companies warmly welcomes Anthony to his new role,” he said. “Myself and the team at EFI wish him the greatest success. Anthony will continue to grow EFI’s output, and during his first month he’ll be introduced to our new state-of-the-art weighing apparatus and powder coating plants.”

Robert’s previous employer – Sanoh UK Manufacturing – is a Japanese-owned company that houses plants across the globe, specializing in tube manipulation for a number of automotive OEMs such as Honda, Nissan and Jaguar Land Rover.

Beginning on the workshop floor, Roberts soon rose up the ranks to gain ‘Engineer’ status, before securing the role as Senior Engineering Manager which he held for the last decade before moving to EFI. This array of positions ensures that he’s extremely competent in all aspects involved with a manufacturing outfit – skills he’ll no doubt be putting to good use with EFI moving forward.

Now part of the EBC Brakes group, EFI has enjoyed an enviable reputation for expertise in the continual development and improvement of brake pad friction materials for over 80 years. Find out more at www.efiltd.co.uk.d as General Manager of European Friction Industries Ltd
