Emissions Expert on Eu7 EuroBrake Panel

STANSTEAD, U.K. – Rosa Delgado, Senior Manager; Powertrain at Applus+ IDIADA, will be participating in the EuroBrake 2023 Strategy panel session discussing the “Effects of the EU7 regulation on brake system development and homologationon.”

The Strategy session will be held from 11:10 a.m. – 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 13th. The annual gathering of the leading brake-industry individuals and organizations, sponsored by FISITA, runs from Sept. 12-14, 2023, in Barcelona.

Delgado will be addressing and debating this topic alongside a number of other special guests; including:

The new Euro 7 standards will be the first worldwide emission standards to move beyond regulating exhaust pipe emissions and set additional limits for particulate emissions from brakes and rules on microplastic emissions from tires. These rules will apply to all vehicles, including electric ones. 

The panel will discuss the following:

  • Overview of EU7
  • What are the challenges for OEMs
  • Planned procedure for the homologation of new vehicles
  • Necessary contributions to the solution – the suppliers perspective
  • Next steps in regulation worldwide: globalisation (Asia and USA); harmonization testing and limits; aftermarket situation and commercial vehicles

Delgado, a graduate in Industrial Engineering and Master in Environmental Engineering, has more than 25 years of experience in automotive sector, mainly related to fuel/energy consumption and exhaust and non-exhaust emissions. She has published several papers in different fields of emissions models and simulation, emission regulations, fuel consumption, vehicle emissions and alternative fuels.

She has been part of various working groups led by the European Commission related to determination of exhaust and non-exhaust emissions, and currently member of AGVES (Advisory Group Vehicle Emissions Standards) and IWG PMP. Also leading other European Projects such as GVI Project (Green Vehicle Index), PEMs4Nano Project (Portable Nano-Particle Emission Measurement System) and PaREGEn (Particle Reduced, Efficient Gasoline Enginesis
