“Today we added front and rear pad kits for Passenger Cars, Vans and SUV’s; these parts fit a number of Chevrolet, Ram, Fiat and Land Rover vehicles.  We continue to expand our offering in 2019, these seven new part numbers expand our coverage by almost 1 million vehicles.”

Stated Edward Gerhardt, Marketing & Data Services Manager, Akebono Brake Corporation: “With this release, we now have full coverage for the new Chevrolet Malibu, added front pads for the commercial use Ram ProMaster City, Fiat 500L and a slew of Land Rover’s; all four Land Rover parts include the electronic wear sensor and hardware kits.  Range Rover, Range Rover Sport, Discovery and LR4 owners now have the chance to experience, great-braking dust-free performance from Akebono”.

Akebono is currently going through a reorganization that analysts say will likely involve the closure of some of the company’s North American facilities, as well as perhaps one abroad. The company has reportedly suffered from a loss of General Motors brake business that was the driver of its North American expansion.
