Knorr-Bremse Delivers Its 50 Millionth Air Brake

MUNICH – Knorr-Bremse, a global market leader for braking systems and a leading supplier of other rail and commercial vehicle systems, marked the milestone of reaching 50 million air disc brakes delivered to customers with the following Linkedin post:

50,000,000 – that is the impressive number of Air Disc Brakes Knorr-Bremse has delivered to global customers to date!

This record-setting success story of Knorr Bremse’s Air Disc Brakes for trucks, buses and trailers started back in 1992. The aim, both then and now: to improve safety, reduce braking distances and enhance comfort in vehicle driving.

What makes the success of our Air Disc Brakes? We can think of plenty of reasons! Here are just a few of them: Highest reliability and safety, long-lasting brake pads, compact and low weight design with best torque to weight ratio and global availability of parts, making the brakes much easier to maintain.

Of course we’re not resting on our laurels. Our teams around the world are already developing braking solutions that meet future requirements, making transportation more sustainable. New functions like Active Caliper Release increase efficiency and pad life, our new brake generations Synact and NexTT reduce weight and future solutions will contribute to limit particle emissions.

Here’s to the next 50 million!
