Jamieson Gets FMSI Lifetime Achievement Award

NAPLES Fla. — FMSI recognized Rick Jamieson CEO of ABS Friction with a lifetime achievement award at the annual FMSI Brake Weekend™ held in Naples Florida.

“I was honored to present Rick the award,” said Frank Oliveto FMSI president. “Rick Jamieson was a long time FMSI board member, treasurer and served 2 years as the FMSI Chairman.

“Rick was instrumental in the reorganization and modernizing of the non-profit trade organization and moving our headquarters to Auburn Hills Michigan.”

This is the 2nd time FMSI has recognized a lifetime achievement award in its 75-year history.

Also recognized at the FMSI Brake Weekend™ was Bill Murray of NUCAP, an outgoing board member and former FMSI Chairman. Jesus Villabos of Dynamic Friction was awarded the top contributing member for the 7th time.

Founded in 1948 as a trade organization, FMSI and FMS are registered trademarks of Friction Materials Standards Institute

FMSI created the standard part numbering system for Brake and Clutch facings.
