Gulf Launches EV Brake Fluid

LONDON — Gulf Lubricants has announced a new range of electric and hybrid powertrain brake fluids and coolants, eLEC, offering tailored products to vehicles with electrified powertrains, as take up of fully electric and hybrid vehicles increases.

The eLEC polyglycol-based brake fluid has been released to ensure optimal braking performance in electric vehicles (EVs). The fluid has been developed with the requirements of a modern EV and hybrid braking system in mind, such as a high boiling point and high corrosion protection, for optimal performance alongside a regenerative braking system.

Despite the introduction of regenerative braking on EVs, the brake system still requires a fluid with a high boiling point as the system is placed under high demand if the battery is full. When regenerative braking is in action, brakes will be used less frequently, increasing the need for corrosion resistance.

Gulf eLEC coolant helps keep the batteries at optimum temperature. The thermal management fluid guards against overheating and offers reliable protection against frost and deposits.

The new products are available from the Titan Group of Motor Factors, as part of its U.K. Partnership agreement with Rossmore Lubricants – the Official Importer & Distributor of Gulf Lubricants in the U.K.

Formed by experienced motor factor managers and trade professionals with decades of combined experience, Titan Group is the first employee-owned motor factor in the UK, working with some of the leading aftermarket suppliers to provide premium products of the highest quality.
