Autocar Recall for Faulty Brake Telltale

HAGERSTOWN, Ind. – Autocar, LLC will recall certain model-year 2016-2023 heavy-duty trucks which may have a faulty parking-brake warning light or telltale.

The recall population of 10,894 consists of 2016-2023 Autocar ACX (Expediter) and 2020-2023 Autocar ACX (Xpediter) trucks which might have been produced with a faulty pressure switch.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Part 573 Safety Recall Report 23V-400, a loss of air pressure, which may be the result of the faulty switch, could cause the parking-brake warning light to illuminate.

This condition violates federal regulations.

The company is still formulating a remedy for the condition.

Dealers and consumers are scheduled to be notified about the recall between July 31 and Aug. 1.
