ZF Goes To Powder Adhesives Instead of Solvents

DETROIT, MI–ZF Aftermarket has announced that it is now using powder adhesive technology in its TRW-branded brake pads, instead of organic solvents.

Said to cut solvents by 150 tons a year, the new method uses a dry powder coating adhesive to bond brake pads to the carrier plate, without affecting product quality or performance.

The company has just been awarded the Partslife environmental prize for the new product.
