Wilwood Expands F-150 Brake Fitment

Wilwood Engineering has expanded its Tactical Xtreme TX6R front big brake kit to include Ford F-150 trucks from 2004 to the present, as well as 2010–2014 and 2017–2019 Raptor models. The new bolt-on kits are designed to enhance braking performance for a range of applications, utilizing high-performance components originally engineered for tactical armored vehicles weighing up to 14,000 lbs GVWR.

Wilwood has engineered brackets to integrate the Tactical Xtreme TX6R front big brake kits on popular Ford F-150 trucks spanning the last two decades. The kits are a complete bolt-on solution, featuring TX6R six-piston calipers crafted from stress-flow forged aluminum for superior strength and performance. These calipers and components are originally designed for use on tactical armored vehicles with a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of up to 14,000 pounds, ensuring robust stopping power.

To enhance vehicle performance by reducing unsprung rotating mass, the kits include lightweight aluminum hats. The large 15.50-inch diameter rotors are made from a proprietary military-grade iron alloy and feature 72 staggered cooling vanes. This design helps to dissipate heat quickly and provides improved brake torque. The GTB rotors are E-coated black throughout and have a slotted face design to enhance braking efficiency.

The brake kits are engineered to fit most 20-inch or larger wheels, making them suitable for off-road adventures, hauling, towing, commercial applications, and heavy-duty highway use. Customers can choose calipers in red or black powder coat, or opt for 24 other color options at an additional charge, allowing for customization to match vehicle aesthetics.
