WABCO Showcases Comprehensive Range of Advanced Aftermarket and Remanufacturing Solutions at HDAW 2018

Launches Spare Parts Brand ProVia Blending Affordability and Reliability

LAS VEGAS, Nevada, USA – January 22, 2018 – WABCO (NYSE: WBC), a leading global supplier of technologies that improve the safety, efficiency and connectivity of commercial vehicles, will showcase its broadest range of advanced aftermarket solutions yet for distributors, workshops and fleet operators at the 2018 Heavy Duty Aftermarket Week (HDAW). The industry event will take place from January 22-25 at the Mirage Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada (USA).

Established in 1869 by George Westinghouse in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, WABCO has been an innovation and technology leader in the commercial vehicle industry in North America and around the world. Over the past 150 years WABCO has evolved from a producer of pioneering braking technologies to an industry-leading global supplier of products and services that improve the safety and efficiency of commercial vehicles, and the fleets which operate them.

As a leading partner to fleets, WABCO today is delivering an increasingly growing portfolio of solutions and services to the truck, trailer, bus, car, and off-highway segments, both as a leading OEM supplier and in the aftermarket.

With the recent acquisitions of RH Sheppard and Meritor WABCO, WABCO continues to expand its North American portfolio of solutions to more effectively serve its distributor, workshop and fleet customers. This includes a broader offering of WABCO products and diagnostic solutions, as well as growth of its already extensive remanufacturing offerings. WABCO now provides remanufacturing services and aftermarket sales support for Sheppard’s industry-leading power-steering gears. In addition, the company continues to grow its distribution network and enhance its customer proximity in North America.

As part of its drive to broaden its wide-ranging product portfolio, WABCO will premiere its differentiating budget spare parts brand ProVia at HDAW to better serve the North American marketplace. ProVia parts are specifically engineered to provide reliable performance and are manufactured to industry-leading standards. ProVia helps customers to bridge the gap between parts of questionable origin and premium aftermarket parts, striking a powerful balance between safety, reliability and cost.

WABCO will highlight at HDAW a number of WABCO- and ProVia-branded parts exclusively available through WABCO’s North American aftermarket organization or distributor network. Select WABCO products on display will include:

  • Air Disc Brakes (ADBs): WABCO MAXXUSTM heavy-duty ADB for trucks delivers high-performance braking power fueled by its industry-leading single-piston design. With 25 percent fewer parts, WABCO ADBs feature superior reliability, faster serviceability and expanded service intervals of up to twice that of traditional drum brakes. In addition, WABCO MAXXUS ADB reduces stopping distances up to 10 percent compared to today’s average drum brakes.
  • WABCO EasyFitTM Automatic Slack Adjuster: WABCO EasyFit is a maintenance-free brake adjuster with clearance sensing, the most efficient adjustment design. Simple and quick to install, it maintains a constant clearance between brake lining and drum even under extreme temperature conditions and features best-in-class corrosion protection. WABCO EasyFit significantly reduces service costs as it eliminates the need for quarterly brake service.

WABCO will also showcase a number of ProVia-branded, industry-leading aftermarket products, including:

  • Brake pads: ProVia brake pads cover the most commonly used air disc brakes in leading truck and trailer platforms in North America. ProVia brake pads come with approximately 10 different kits that offer replacement alternatives for more than 120 part numbers of various commercial vehicle builders.
  • Spring brake chambers: ProVia offers low cost and high-performance brake chambers with a universal design to cover a wide range of applications in the truck, bus, and off-highway vehicle segments. ProVia brake chambers perform significantly more operating cycles than comparable budget parts ensuring a longer working life.

“We are excited to showcase at HDAW 2018 WABCO’s extensive aftermarket product portfolio benefiting distributors, workshops and fleet operators in North America,” said Abe Aon, WABCO North America Sales Leader, Aftermarket. “HDAW is the ideal platform to feature our new offerings for Sheppard steering gears and to introduce our new budget spare parts brand ProVia which perfectly balances product safety, reliability and cost.”
