WASHINGTON, D.C. – Navistar is recalling certain 2019-2020 International LT and 2018-2021 International HX trucks due a faulty brake-light switch which might result in the brake lights either not working or remaining lit.

A weak solder joint between the switch terminals and switch internal circuit might result in a poor electrical connection, thus causing the above-mentioned issue, according to the federal  National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).

The recall will begin May  18; Navistar will notify owners  and dealers will replace the brake-light switch, free charge. Owners may contact the company customer service at 1-800-448-7825. Navistar’s number for this recall is 20501.

The International HX population covered by this recall is 4,902 vehicles; the LT population is 8,668.
