MEYLE Racing Support Improves Road Products

HAMBURG, Germany – The MEYLE performance team has just completed several eventful months. Whether in the ADAC GT Masters or in Truck Racing, the racing teams supported by the Hamburg-based manufacturer gave the spectators plenty of exciting position battles.

The Dresdner team of T3 Motorsport behind drivers Maximilian Paul and William Tregurtha can look back on a successful debut season in the ADAC GT Masters.

MAN driver Sascha Lenz and his SL Trucksport 30 team won with three gold, three silver and two bronze medals while Lenz secured fifth in the drivers’ standings. In the team standings the combination of Lenz and Antonio Albacete took second place.

MEYLE engineers assisted other racing teams in the ADAC GT Masters and in the FIA ETRC with their technical expertise. In addition, they were given intensive insights into the world of professional motorsport. With every kilometer covered on the racetrack, they collected valuable data and insights for the further development and optimization of the products.

“With the help of a specially developed documentation tool, the so-called RUNSHEET, we were able to document fuel consumption, tire wear, lap times and set-up vehicle setup during the races, for example, and use it for later analysis,” explained MEYLE engineer Marc Erdmann.

The highlight of the two T3 motorsport drivers was the September race at the

Hockenheimring. Here, the duo took eighth place.

MEYLE has set itself the goal of using the insights gained at the circuit for the development and improvement of parts, thus making every-day work for independent garages and their employees more efficient and easier.

In Germany, more than 60 million car owners rely on their vehicle every day. If the developed parts can withstand conditions on the racetrack, they are even more capable to meet the requirements of road traffic and can bring motorists safely and, above all, long term from A to B.
