ODENSE, Denmark — Meneta is celebrating a quarter century of reducing brake noise through the brake shims it has supplied to the automotive industry’s original equipment (OE) manufacturers. The Odense, Denmark-based company is posting the following Linkedin notice to acknowledge this anniversary:
25 years of eliminating brake noise
This year, we have celebrated Meneta’s 25-year anniversary as a shim supplier to the OE market 🎉
Since 1997, we have produced hundreds of millions of shims and provided acoustic comfort for millions of drivers around the world. Actually, our aftermarket program began 3 years earlier in 1994.

Shipped from Meneta in 1997, our very first OE shim business was for the Volvo 850 models. An excellent drive for its time and still to be seen on the roads.
Later, that first shim was chosen for a carry-over business for Toyota Avensis III which was introduced to the market in 2008.
To this day, we still produce and sell that very first shim through our aftermarket program.
