Link Engineering has announced two significant appointments: Bob Evans as Vice President of Strategy and Dr. Marcel Mathissen as Lead of Research and Development for Europe. These appointments are set to enhance Link’s strategic capabilities and research initiatives across the automotive, aerospace, and HVAC sectors. Evans brings a wealth of experience in global customer and business development, while Dr. Mathissen joins with a distinguished background in non-exhaust emissions research.

Bob Evans’ career has been rooted in the automotive OEM and Tier 1 supplier sectors, serving as a global customer and business development leader. He began his career as a Program/Sales Engineer with GM’s Delphi Division after earning an undergraduate degree in Mechanical Engineering. He later held senior positions at LucasVarity, TRW, and ZF Friedrichshafen, culminating as Vice President of Sales and Commercial Management. Before joining Link Engineering, Evans was with Gru Energy, a startup focused on Li-ion battery materials designed to reduce EV charge time and increase range. He also holds an MBA with a focus in Finance, bringing a robust blend of technical and strategic business expertise.
Evans shared his enthusiasm, stating, “I have experience as a customer of LINK test systems and vehicle test services, and the company’s consistent performance as a trusted and valued supplier partner is respected around the world. Dr. Marcel Mathissen, who holds a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry with a focus on non-exhaust emissions, joins from Ford Motor Company, where he led significant advancements in emissions research and received Ford’s highest internal research award in 2021. Dr. Mathissen has also led various publicly funded projects, including:
- LEON-T (Low particle Emissions and lOw Noise Tyres)
- ADAS&ME (Adaptive ADAS to support incapacitated drivers Mitigate Effectively risks)
- LOWBRASYS (LOW environmental impact BRAke SYStem)
