On Nov 29th to Dec 2nd, during Automechanika Shanghai 2017, the grand opening of Fras-le’s new industrial plant site in Pinghu, Province of Zhejiang, China will take place. Fras-le has operated there, with its own plant, for eight years already and has changed its site for increasing its production capacity in modern facilities. The President of Randon Companies, David Randon, the CEO of Fras-le, Sérgio de Carvalho, and the Director of Fras-le Brazil, North America and Asia Anderson Pontalti will be in attendance. Local authorities such as the City Council and PEDZ (Pinghu Economic-Technological Development Zone) will also be attending the official ceremony.
The new industrial plant, aligned with Fras-le’s strategic plans of doubling its revenues in five years, was planned to become an even bigger export platform for the countries in the region. With 15,000m2 of built-up area, it is more than twice as big as the current area of 6,000m2 in the same region. Investments include new pieces of equipment and an increase of 2.5 times in the production area (from 4,500 m² to 11,000 m²) where brake linings and brake pads for commercial vehicles will be manufactured, creating up to 200 new jobs in the coming years, according to the General Manager for Asia, Eduardo Manenti Vargas.
Fras-le Asia will have capacity to produce up to 5.0 million brake pads and up to 10.0 million brake linings pieces per year. Production will escalate gradually, starting from 1.75 million brake pads and 4.0 million brake linings per year.
Fras-le has operated within the Chinese market since 2001. The company started in 2006 with a sales office in China. In 2009, Fras-le set up an industrial plant. “Our presence in China was instrumental in the Company’s plan to go more and more international”, says the President of Randon Companies, David Abramo Randon, noting that, in addition to being already integrated into the local culture, the Company has also been approved as a first line supplier, which opens up new business opportunities in one of the largest markets worldwide.
