Frasle Mobility, a Brazilian multinational specializing in sustainable mobility solutions, is advancing its efforts to meet new environmental standards by reducing particle emissions from brake systems. With a presence in over 125 countries, the company is preparing to launch a product line aligned with the upcoming Euro 7 regulations, set to begin in 2026. These rules will impose strict limits on brake particle emissions for the first time, prompting Frasle Mobility to innovate with new materials and technologies. The company, part of Randoncorp, is investing heavily in research and infrastructure to stay ahead of these global trends, reinforcing its 70-year legacy in automotive technology.
Key Highlights:
- Euro 7 Compliance: New limits include 3 mg/km for electric vehicles, 7 mg/km for combustion and hybrid cars, and 11 mg/km for vans.
- Research Focus: Developing new brake pad and disc formulations with nanotechnology.
- Infrastructure Boost: A dynamometer for emission testing will be installed in 2025 at its Caxias do Sul lab.
- Global Reach: Operates 12 plants and serves customers across five continents.
- Sustainability Legacy: Eliminated asbestos and copper from products ahead of regulations.
To address Euro 7’s challenges, Frasle Mobility is collaborating with raw material suppliers and vehicle manufacturers. Its research, supported by the Hercílio Randon Institute (IHR), explores nanotechnology-based brake discs to minimize wear and emissions. The company’s Movetech center in Brazil, the largest friction materials engineering hub in the Southern Hemisphere, employs over 160 specialists using advanced tools for product design and testing. Additional facilities in China, India, and beyond enhance its global innovation network.
Frasle Mobility’s proactive approach builds on its history of environmental responsibility. It phased out asbestos before Brazil’s 1990s ban and removed copper from brake pads, starting in North America. With operations spanning 12 industrial plants and partnerships like the Randon Technological Center (CTR), the company continues to lead in sustainable automotive solutions, keeping life in motion worldwide.
