CHIPPENHAM, U.K. – EBC Brakes has announced it will become the official brake partner of Wiltshire’s Castle Combe Circuit for the 2020 events season.
The news will see the UK-based brake manufacturer take the headline sponsorship slot of the venue’s Hot Hatch Challenge race series (now dubbed the “EBC Brakes Hot Hatch Challenge”), as well as supplying its performance-focused products to all of the 1.85-mile circuit’s “experience-day” sports cars throughout the year.
Also, as part of the deal, EBC Brakes will host an exclusive car and motorcycle track day in the autumn – a chance to showcase first-hand its acclaimed motorsport-derived products to distributors and customers.
With one of its main manufacturing facilities based approximately 20 miles away in Bristol, EBC Brakes has had local connections to Castle Combe Circuit for many years, often testing and developing its prototype components here before they’re released around the world.
Castle Combe Circuit is celebrating its 70th anniversary as the home of motorsport in the West Country in 2020, with an extra-special array of shows, track days and race meetings for both cars and motorcycles scheduled to mark the milestone.
James Hallett, EBC Brakes’ Group CEO, commented on the news: “It’s going to be great to work more closely alongside Castle Combe for 2020. With a range of new motorsport-focused products being released throughout the year from EBC, it’ll be the perfect chance to showcase these to an enthusiastic and track-focused audience.”
Tom Davis, Castle Combe Circuit’s Sales and Marketing Director, was also optimistic about the year ahead: “I’m absolutely delighted to be working with such a prestigious brand as EBC Brakes. The company brings a lot to the table for our customers in both the racing and track day markets. We fully recognise the significance of being supported by such an important British company that supplies such consistently good-quality products.”
