STEZZANO, Italy–Brembo S.p.A. said today that it named Daniele Schillaci to be the new CEO of the brake company, replacing Andrea Marescotti who announced he is leaving the brake firm effective June 30 to pursue other professional opportunities.
Brembo’s Executive Vice Chairman, Matteo Tiraboschi, commented: “I have learned with regret of Andrea’s decision to leave the Company after the close cooperation we had for the last eight years, even though I have well understood the personal reasons that have led him to such life choice. I thus wish to thank him and at the same time convey all my very best wishes for a great success in his future activities.”
Schillaci is a 25-year veteran of the auto supplier and OE industries, holding positions at Renault, Fiat Auto and Alfa Romeo, Toyota and Nissan. He is a graduate of Industrial Technologies Engineering at Milan’s Politecnico.
Since 2015, Schillaci has been “Executive Vice President and Executive Committee Member of Nissan Motor Corporation, with the position of “Head of Global Sales & Marketing and Electric Vehicles” for all the company’s brands – Nissan, Datsun, Infiniti. He was also appointed President of Japan and Asia Region with responsibility for production, engineering, development, sales & marketing, finance and has led Nissan’s “Zero Emission Vehicles” project.
With the scandal at Nissan that led to the incarceration and forthcoming trial of former Nissan and Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn, there has been an exodus of European executives who had been part of Ghosn’s team.
At Brembo, Schillaci takes over the company with arguably the strongest brand among Tier-One brake suppliers, as well as the aftermarket.
Brembo in 2018, reported a net profit of EUROS 230.8 million on EUROS 2.64 billion.
