Brembo has strengthened its commitment to environmental sustainability by securing a 10-year agreement to source one TeraWatt-hour (TWh) of green energy for its operations in Poland. The renewable energy will power the company’s production facilities, further advancing its goal of reducing its carbon footprint and embracing sustainable production practices.
Key Highlights:
- Green Energy Scope: Brembo will use 1 TWh of renewable energy over the next decade to support its facilities in Dąbrowa-Górnicza, Częstochowa, and Niepołomice.
- Environmental Impact: The renewable energy commitment is equivalent to powering approximately 33,000 homes for 10 years.
- Global Leadership: At the global level, 75% of Brembo’s electricity comes from renewable sources, with 100% renewable energy usage in Italy, Mexico, and Brazil.
- Strategic Partnership: The agreement was signed with Axpo Group, Switzerland’s largest energy producer and a key player in renewable energy trading.
This initiative underscores Brembo’s dedication to environmental stewardship. By committing to green energy in Poland, the company aligns with its broader sustainability goals and sets a benchmark for energy-efficient operations in the automotive industry.
“The transition to renewable energy is a crucial step in Brembo’s sustainability journey,” the company stated. “Our long-term partnership with Axpo Group ensures that we continue to reduce our environmental impact while maintaining the highest standards of production.”
Brembo’s efforts reflect a broader trend in the automotive sector to adopt greener energy solutions. The company’s focus on renewable energy not only strengthens its operational sustainability but also reinforces its leadership in promoting eco-friendly practices globally.
Through initiatives like these, Brembo demonstrates how industrial leaders can achieve measurable progress toward reducing carbon emissions, paving the way for a more sustainable future.
