STEZZANO, Italy – Brembo is the winner of the Daimler Supplier Award in Sustainability in 2019 (Production Material category), the prestigious commendation with which the German group honors its key suppliers.
The Company was acknowledged as a top supplier in sustainability in 2019, in recognition for a comprehensive, systematic, holistic sustainability approach and CO2 reduction in its in-house production.
Cristina Bombassei, Chief Corporate Social Responsibility Officer of the Bergamo-based company was at Carl Benz-Arena in Stuttgart to collect the award, together with Alberto Bombassei, Chairman of Brembo and Daniele Schillaci, CEO of the company.
Bombassei commented, “It is a great emotion and a great honor for me, and for all Brembo people, to receive this prestigious award. We are driven by our passion for the automotive industry and we want to make sure to continue to bring this passion, together with our innovation, our values of sustainability and social responsibility – which are pillars for both our companies – into our daily efforts as partners towards a sustainable mobility.”
This latest award comes just some days after the recognition as a global leader in sustainable water and climate management, achieved on global environmental impact non-profit CDP’s prestigious Climate Change and Water Security A List.
The Daimler Supplier Award in Sustainability is tribute to a partnership of excellence between Brembo and Daimler dating back to the early 1990s, when calipers were first supplied for a number of vehicles. Now, 30 years on, Brembo supplies discs, calipers and often the entire brake system for top-of-the-range models produced by the German car maker, as well as brake components for commercial vehicles and for motorsport.
