SOFIA, Bulgaria – Bulgaria’s BDZ Passengers, a unit of state-owned railways operator BDZ Holding, announced yesterday that it has begun the process of a finding a provider for a three-year supply of cast iron brake shoes worth an estimated 3.0 million levs ($1.7 million/1.5 million euro).
The tender envisages the delivery of more than 1,800 tons of new cast iron brake shoes, BDZ Passengers said in a tender notice.
Under the terms of the contract, the selected candidate is also obliged to repurchase the scrap material from used cast iron brake shoes.
Bids in the tender will be ranked predominantly based on price, with a 75 percent weight.
The deadline for submitting offers is March 2.
